Hello, I’m Leon Reyes, Editor-in-Chief of CDOP Museums. With a professional career spanning over two decades, I’ve dedicated my life to unearthing and sharing the captivating narratives that make up our world, particularly in the realms of sports, journalism, and gambling.
Born and raised in the heart of Manila, I’ve always been captivated by the vibrant sports scene of the Philippines. From our national love of basketball to the thrills of the cockfighting ring, I’ve been fortunate to explore these passions first-hand, both as a fan and as a sports journalist. My work has taken me from the local barangay tournaments all the way to the grand stadiums of the Southeast Asian Games.
My journey into journalism began at the University of the Philippines, where I earned my degree in Journalism. I cut my teeth writing for various local newspapers before transitioning into broadcast journalism. As a correspondent, I had the privilege of covering some of the most significant sporting events in our nation’s history.
My exploration of the gambling industry was, in many ways, a natural extension of my interest in sports. I began to understand the intricate dynamics between sports, betting, and our society, leading me to delve deeper into the world of gambling. As part of my work, I’ve had the unique opportunity to investigate the complex narratives surrounding this industry, from the vibrant local bingo halls to the high-stakes world of online casinos.
